(Late) Newspost!
So! News post, news post…
Let’s see…what did we do…
Oh! Okay, a bunch of weeks ago, we went to the New York Comic Con! As you saw in the last comic.
It.
Was.
Awesome.

Rebecca met Hellboy, whose smile contradicts the gun aimed at her.
Alright! So! We had originally gone because there was a Hellboy II panel featuring Guillermo del Toro, Ron Perlman, Doug Jones, Selma Blair, Luke Goss and Mike Mignola. It was awesome. Saw the extended trailer w/ Johann (Seth MacFarlane? NEAT!), listened to everything they had to say, lamented the brevity of the panel and experienced strange disconnect of Ron Perlman’s voice coming out of an ordinary man.
We had hoped to ask a question and say hello BUT THEY STOPPED THE QUESTIONS RIGHT BEFORE IT WAS OUR TURN. My plan was to pull out all my hair, but Rebecca stopped me. Here is a picture. Not included is Mike Mignola, not because he’s not cool, but because I couldn’t get everybody in the picture. I took a ton, though, and he made it into some, I promise. I just wont force their blurriness on you.

And then, to make matters even worse, the autograph signing? You had to win a lottery to get bracelets to get signed. Which, naturally, we didn’t. Alas! Fortunately, a friend of ours did and he got our things signed so we have the DVDs signed by the whole cast, including Luke Goss who isn't actually in Hellboy, but hey). But at this point you might ask “How did you live? So close and yet so far to all the awesomeness? Why didn’t you throw yourselves off the bridge on the way home? It would have been better than living with the agony. Maybe it's not too late”.
Well, thanks. But all was not lost!
On Sunday, we headed back to the Con and our friend spotted none other than (the CREATOR OF HELLBOY) Mike Mignola hanging out at the Darkhorse booth. Being a coward, I hid out fearing a potential lawsuit while Rebecca headed in and said hello.
AND HE KNEW WHO WE WERE!
AUGH. DUDE. He knew who we were, he’s read the comic, thinks it’s hilarious and mentioned that GDT himself loves it and keeps up with it. :-|
We politely requested a picture with A&K and he asked if Abe should be looking lovingly at Kroenen and then I figure I passed out due to spiking levels of Glee and when I came to we had this picture.

(This is us with the neat-o Mike Mignola, creator of Hellboy, for those who don’t want to read the cut. KEEN!)
Please note our awesome B.P.R.D. special ops badges.
And finally, even though we’re super super late on this, we still want to give a shout out to…
freetre, reader and super-talented artist who we met at the convention. She was great, had a neat-o very nice(because SOME PEOPLE have a problem with the word NEAT-O!) booth and you should all…I don’t know. Say hi and look at her very cool work.
Arthur Delaney of New American Graphic Novels, who was there with a beta book for the new comic he and his team are working on. It’s called NANOMAN and we got the beta books so we’re holding on to them for when it all takes off.
NOW! Next!
Doug Jones (Abe!) is also going to be appearing at a much smaller New York convention in June and Rebecca and I will be heading down to that. It’s called the Big Apple Con so if anyone’s going to that, let us know! We’ll be there the 6th to the 8th.
Thanks for reading! And we’ll be back with a new episode soon!

dude, he knew who we were. :-O He CREATED 'HELLBOY', man!
